APC Senators reject motion for 5K monthly stipend to unemployed youths

There was an uproar yesterday during the senate plenary session as the APC and PDP senators argued over the payment of 5K monthly stipend to unemployed youths in Nigeria.
Senator Philip Aduda (PDP, FCT), the Senate Minority Whip had raised a motion urging the Federal Government to fulfill one of its campaign promises of paying N5,000 to unemployed youths every month to cushion the effect of the current economic hardship.

But the APC senators rejected the motion and even an attempt by Godswill Akpabio to second the motion was shouted down.

However, when Saraki intervened and put the motion to the house to voice vote, the a yes clearly had the loudest voice, in support of the allowance payment but the Senate President hit his gavel in support of the nay, from the APC senators.
