Ministerial List: Buhari won’t have any influence on the probing of nominees

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said President Muhammadu Buhari will not interfere in the on-going investigation of any ministerial nominee.
Deputy National Chairman (North) of the party, Senator Lawali Shuaibu, said this in an interview with reporters in Abuja, on Sunday 11th October.

He explained that the President’s commitment to the anti-graft war is such that, he would not shield any nominee who were proven to be corrupt by a court of competent jurisdiction even after the senate’s approval. The same applies to members of the party.

Shuaibu said,

"You see the president has said several times that he believes in the rule of law, that he respects the rule of the law. Anything that is not in line with the constitution and the extant laws of this country, he would not go for it.
When it comes to the issue of the choice of people who will serve as ministers in his administration, I believe that until one is convicted in the law court, we will be chasing shadows on the basis of suspicions and assumptions.
I think, quite frankly, that he is not going to stop any investigation against any member of his cabinet."
